My home garden, Monarch Waystation #271, reports the first adult male hummingbird sighted as it nectared on coral honeysuckle [Lonicera sempervirens] in my back yard on this date. The way the columbine and coral honeysuckle have maintained blooms for the past month made me suspicious that hummingbirds were here, but I couldn't ever catch one nectaring until now. My husband has seen them before this but couldn't remember the first date.
