Arnet Sheppard reported to the Yahoo group Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec Butterflies that he observed one monarch on Saturday, May 30 at Britannia, a community now part of the City of Ottawa in the National Capital Region. Britannia is located west of Ottawa along the Ottawa River, and there are a number of parks and conservation areas which are exceptional for finding birds and butterflies. A slightly enclosed portion of this large river is referred to as Britannia Bay.
