Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/22/2015

Number: 3

We arrived at the cabin, made some syrup and filled the feeder. Within a few minutes we had competing ruby throated hummingbirds. As is their typical approach they fight with each other, darting at the one feeding, to feed. There was one large male, one female, and one small male. They are so funny, buzzing the picture windows to hover and look at us. If we don't get the feeder up quickly when we arrive they are right there at the window, like "what's taking you so long!?" This spring our next nearest neighbors had not put theirs up yet.
