Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/10/2015

Number: 1

Monarch Watch gave our school about 30 common milkweed plants in April 2014 and we found 3 cats on them on Wednesday evening during garden volunteer time with the families. Very exciting and early to find them here since we usually see them in August/Sept. The milkweed are also attracting lots of fritillary but I have not seen a monarch butterfly but school is out for the summer as of a week ago. I have brought them home to raise and we have some in the fall too for the classes to raise. We go back to school in mid-August so perfect timing.
