While driving down Rt 60 toward chelyan between the camp ground at Gauley bridge and scenic water fall at railroad tracks I spotted a huge bird perched on a rock on the bank of the River. I turned at the camp ground and went back and sure enough it was an adult bald eagle. It lifted off after a few seconds and flew down the river toward kanawha falls.
