Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/15/2015

Number: 1

Well I admit it. I was really mournful this spring surveying all my beautiful milkweed in full bloom and not a single Monarch in sight.
But I just spotted tiny Monarch caterpillars happily munching away on perfect Common milkweed. All you need is one Monarch visit! I don't yet know how many there are, but my property is filled with all the plants and flowers they need.
I feel gratified that I have also expanded my pollinator gardens to an additional property on the west side of NJ and that I will expect to see a full spectrum of pollinators and butterflies there as well.
