Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/17/2015

Number: 1

Healthy adult landing on multiple wild Milkweed plants.

I am well acquainted with the differences between Viceroy & Monarch butterflies, & what I observed was definitely a Monarch. Unfortunately, my camera was not to hand when I spotted this first one of the season, however I am completely positive on species. Coincidentally (?) this one was making itself at home in a patch of Milkweed, where I had the pleasure of taking almost daily photos & videos of egg>butterfly, last Sept/Oct, before wishing it 'Bonne Chance!' as it began the journey south. ;-)
