Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/08/2015

Number: 1

One of my staff walked to the mailbox to pick up the day's mail and noticed some holes in a nearby common milkweed. Upon examining the holes, she found the tiniest little larva. We've never seen one that small so she brought it in so we could watch it grow. A Wild Ones member who nurtures monarch larvae every summer dropped by a kit for us to use to observe the monarch larva as it goes through its various stages of growth. It's been quite fascinating.
