An adult monarch flew past me as I was working in the garden. I couldn't tell if it was male or female, but it proceeded to fly all around the garden area and the approximately six acres of fields we have let go wild so that it contains lots of milkweed. The monarch circled many of the milkweed plants but did not stop. It is still here inspecting the layout. I have raised and released monarchs for about forty years and both my husband and I saw this one and there was no doubt as to what it was. I will try to get a picture...but it is moving fast!
