Black-chinned males seen feeding at flowers and feeder on an eastern mountainside (2000 ft.) of the Okanagan Valley in south-central British Columbia. Black-chinned birds are uncommon at lake level in this area (elevation 945 ft.), indicating they prefer the mountainside over the valley floor comprised of a lake, orchards and desert plant species.
