We have had much rain this month and the Kisheaukee River near our home is in flood stage. After more rain this morning there was soom clearing in the afternoon and to my surprise, I saw about 50 red admiral butterflies in front of the house and garage. They were flying and resting on the siding in the sun.
I have seen several single red admirals this Spring but nothing like this before.
We do live in the woods and have stinging nettle on the property.
