Lilacs have been in bloom for at least a couple of weeks in NB and are now declining. They’ve been attracting plenty of Canadian Tiger Swallowtails here on our property.

A day or two after I posted a request for first Monarch sightings on NatureNB, a friend of mine in Blackville New Brunswick photographed a Monarch in his garden. I expect it was on some of his Common Milkweed. I saw my first Monarch of the summer there while visiting him in mid-July a year ago.
