Sightings report image

Date: 06/28/2015

Number: 1

I don't know if this is success or failure. This was a very healthy four foot Common Milkweed. It had three main stems and flower buds. Second year plant. Suddenly (a day or two) two of the stems are stripped of all leaves. The flower is gone. Don't know who did it. Have had Monarchs. Had eggs and found a second instar on a differant Common Milkweed. If it was older Monarch Cats that stripped it I have not seen them or any chrysalis. Garden is thick nearby. Am afraid to weed as I might disturb them. Hope the Milkweed comes back. I may have to start from scratch next spring.
