i was sitting on my porch overlooking my perennial bed, which I have just certified as a Monarch waystation. I noticed a large butterfly checking out my purple cone flowers that looked like it might be a Monarch. I walked over to the flower bed and got close enough to see that it was not a Viceroy and was a Monarch. I went inside to grab my camera and when I came back outside the Monarch flitted off and I lost sight of it. This occurred about 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
