This property has a naturally occurring population of Verbesina virginica, Frostweed and the Monarchs are using the plants for nectar and they roost in nearby trees. This species is not known to naturally occur this far north in the state and many Monarch's were seen at this location during their fall migration south. Based on the numbers observed, there is video, this must be a historical site for these insects. Unique to see this plant in this county.....
