Our first monarch of 2015 is a female who visited our milkweed yesterday, July 10, around 6:30pm. She fed on milkweed and butterfly bush blossoms and she rested often on milkweed leaves, but we have not found any eggs. Her colors were dull and she looked worn, but not ragged.

We've been fooled by several fritillaries this season, so we were thrilled to see this lady's familiar flap and glide flight pattern!
