My wife and I observed two Monarch butterflies at Big Meadows, Va atop the Shenandoah National Park. One was observed at 1:10 p.m and the second one at 5:20 pm. There hundreds of thousands of butterflies of all types nectaring on milkweed, joe pye weed and other flowers in bloom. Big Meadows is a large open space of hundreds of acres with nature trails. The plant life was abundant and green from above average rainfall.
