There were 8 larva on a single, small pink swamp milkweed plant in my yard; I gave three to friends who did not yet have caterpillars, one disappeared (died?), and brought 4 into my house to raise. This July 12 larva and the July 12 adult I also reported were the first I'd seen all summer.
