I was told by a Monarch Butterfly expert, that monarchs are RARELY ever seen in Colorado! It has been DECADES since my husband & I have seen one here! There was a reported sighting of a monarch last year, close to where I live in Denver! I wonder if this could be the same one! I don't know if this is a male or female. I know the males sport a black spot on each hind wing. I can't see it in this photo. Just not sure if this photo shows that possibility. Actually I'm hoping this is a female, and she laid eggs! I'm beside myself with excitement! I actually planted a milkweed garden last year, in hopes of seeing monarchs once again!! :) "Come my way, milkweed awaits" :)
