Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 07/30/2015

Number: 1

We saw 1 monarch butterfly on a leaf of the milkweed plant. No indication of any larvae eating any of the leaves around the area & there are multitudes of milkweed plants along the Okanagan River within the long walkway along the river from Oliver to Osooyos. We walked for several days & this was the ONLY one we spotted. Not able to catch a pic, but, it was definitely a monarch. It flew over to the remains of a few scraggly flowers & sucked on the nectar. At this time of year, in Oliver, flowers are mostly gone.
