While enjoying a lake day on the boat, I counted 5 monarchs in 3 hours in what seemed to be dedicated flight. There was a strong WNW wind enough to create whitecaps on the lake. The monarchs were flying N to S across the lake. On the way home, I saw the 6th monarch flying from N to S flying across a farmer's field. It seems too early to see dedicated flight.
