We were sitting on the couch when we saw a bald eagle fly by. It first landed near a tree on the bluff. Then he/she flew down to the pond to cool off as it was nearly 100 degrees outside which is uncommon in this area. We are near the Cabinet Wilderness in Montana. We have never seen a bald eagle fly on to this private property's pond. It was a thrilling surprise for us and we took many pictures. He stayed about 10 minutes drinking from the pond and looking out over the property. We took many pictures and after he flew away talked about our experience all day. Later while we were swimming in the pond we saw him flying by once again . We hope he/she has a nest on the property.
