A fourth instar monarch caterpillar was found on the Common Milkweed growing by the shed in the Children's Learning Garden at the Virginia Living Museum this morning around 10 am. I was doing general weeding and IPM when the happy discovery was made. We've seen feeding signs but no caterpillars on and off during the summer.
