Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/03/2015

Number: 7

Planted swamp milkweed in yard this summer, from which I collected 7 larvae to raise indoors. Now have 12 (some inadvertently collected on milkweed harvested for food), each in separate plastic shoebox. All OK so far. This is first time attempt. Don't see a lot of monarch butterflies, but those several who are around are clearly laying eggs. Our farm has 5 fallow acres w/ hundreds of common milkweed, so no shortage of food for larvae.
