This season has been encouraging. Last summer there was nothing to report. But I have had caterpillars which seem to disappear and then last week and this week I have had monarchs flying about and I have found the empty Chrysalides of some which I had not spotted earlier, so I know more than six has produced monarchs. My patch is thick with milkweed and other weeds so it is hardero keep trackof larva and the making of chysasides. Now it is evident that the season was good, even if not as good as earlier years.
