I have milkweed in my yard. This year was a very late year for it to come out of the ground (end of May). I now have 40 plus plants. I saw one Monarch butterfly in July. Then 2 weeks ago a small larva and only a little eaten off one plant. No chrysalis. I have also seen 3 more monarchs not in my yard but elsewhere in my community.2 in July and 2 at the beginning of August. A very low sighting this year. I noticed this week that one of the monarchs was very new. Rich color and vibrant in energy. I hope that we can see more this August.
