Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/05/2015

Number: 10

Patch of milkweed was found along highway 71 near Black Bear Camp. Ditching was being carried out along the highway so I took the larva to the protected patch of milkweed in Kenora.
We found the Project Manager for the ditching along Hwy 71 and spoke to him about the importants of milkweed to the monarch, especially in NW Ontario where it is very rare.
He came with us and brought one of his foreman to the site and took pictures. He said they will not distroy this site or others they find. I will be sending him information on the monarch.
