Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/06/2015

Number: 8

Eight birds at the feeders today is out best estimate. A new male has appeared over the last couple of days. There was also a young male with a single red feather in the center of his neck. One little fellow with what looks like five o'clock shadow. A very motley looking bird and a few chubby adolescents. We think the chubby birds are our own local babies.

Tonight had to be the most incredible display of aerial hum fu fighting we've ever seen at the feeders. Five birds at a feeder playing musical chairs and coming as close to us as they could without actually perching on our heads. It's been very busy for the last couple of days.
