Hi,
I have seen 4 Monarchs in total this year, along a country road near a farmer's field. Milkweed and a variety of butterfly flowers grow in this area,(including some wooded areas around the valley area behind our home). Unfortunately much of the milkweed seems to grow along roadways that the townships mow these areas. But I hope to plant milkweed in the field areas behind our home.
The honey bees have been visiting the clovers but I think their numbers seem down. It have been very dry this year I do have a 'bee-pond'and butterfly watering stations. The few black admirals like the sand I wet down for them. The swallow-tails are scarce as well.
We have a local honey farmer who I will ask about the bees this year.
No picture at this time sighting unexpected and lovely surprise no camera at hand.
Bee a good neighbour.
Bye ~Jude
