I have had a pair of Monarchs staying here for over a month and laying eggs. I'm caging the small cats as I've encountered a lot of insects and spiders preying on them. I have 3 chrysalises so far. Have 2 due to emerge next week and one the week after. Am finding eggs and first instars on the milkweed. Don't know if the other Monarch is male or female. I'm going to assume male as I've only seen two adults. Have not been able to get close enough to the second one.
