I have seen two monarchs. One arrived three weeks ago and left eight eggs. Then two days ago on August 11, another monarch left several eggs. This morning I woke up to find two large monarch caterpillars happily feasting on the milkweed plant. :) This is the first year I have had flowers and butterflies. I grew the milkweed from seed after purchasing them as a result of an NPR segment I heard about monarchs.
