Late season report (they depart my area 15 SEP): Some observers in my area have reported fears that the HB population is down due to environmental issues. I have seen nothing to support this. My season started a week early, first week of April, and is going very strong. I count twenty, but there could be many more. This is the height of the season and I am quite pleased with the flock I am feeding. To wit, I just bought my fortieth pound of sugar for this season ! Might need more...

One more month to go.....and then, weep for seven months !
