Sightings report image

Date: 08/16/2015

Number: 19

This sighting was observed on 2 mature milk weed plants. (of the 7, I have growing) Both plants having seed pods developed; but not as yet burst.... Two (2) of the larvae on the same plant are quite advanced in their development (40-45 mm in length - as pictured) in comparison to the rest (8) larvae being in the 10-15 mm. range. The adjacent plant hosts the remaining 9 larvae which are also in the 10-15 mm range. These host plants are approximately 5' tall and are growing in relatively full sun (8+ hrs of sunlight) while the remaining 5 plants are 2 1/2 - 4' tall and in partial shade only receiving about 4 hrs. of direct sunlight daily; with very little sign of activity as of yet.
