I'm in Huntsville, TX (about 100 miles north of Houston along I45), and
my wife said she saw a Monarch ovipositing on our milkweed either yesterday
or today. Not sure, as I was out of town. The last time I KNEW we had cats
was a few years ago, and they all disappeared, with signs that at least some
of them were preyed upon by SOMEthing. We've been bringing fritillaries
inside, so I think we'll do the same with this egg we saw. We have PLENTY of
milkweed, although it might not be their preferred species.
