This morning about 11:20 am I spotted a male monarch nectaring on Tithonia in the Children's Learning Garden at the Virginia Living Museum. I talked with museum visitors about the plants in the garden, answering questions, for about 20 minutes. The male would nectar, fly around the general area for a bit, then come back to nectar on various blooms, including tropical milkweed, purple coneflower, and red Pentas. No other monarchs were seen. I didn't get a chance to thoroughly search for eggs or larvae and didn't see any obvious signs of feeding in the Milkweeds present. I wonder if it's the same male I saw here earlier in the month.
