My husband and I were camping in Ontario, Canada for one month. We just returned on August 18 around 9PM.
While in Ontario we saw lots of milkweed, but I saw no sign of monarchs in any stage. A naturalist in Algonquin Provincial Park said she raised around 6 monarch caterpillars.
Then on the day we were leaving (August 18) I saw a monarch butterfly on golden rod! I was very excited and ran to get the camera and was able to get a photo before he or she flew off. The monarch was on the move!
