Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/18/2015

Number: 12

A dozen caterpillars found in a shaded milkweed patch under red pine, most are 5th instar, but one 1/2" larvae also found. On my property in the last few days I have seen larvae from 3/8" long, 1 larvae in a J position, and 2 chrysallis plus several brand new adults (lollygagging through my yard in a southerly direction). This is the most larvae I have seen in years.
