Saw several monarchs on 8/18/15 and, indeed, daily for many weeks. They are nectaring on zinnias, swamp milkweed and other flowers as well as breeding. Saw one carrying another a long distance across the pond. Many many caterpillars sighted. There are hundreds on our organic farm. Have brought 28 indoors to rear in captivity. 6 so far have eclosed and been released, 3 have died.
Older generations of butterflies easy to discern from those recently born.
