One problem with being house-ridden for much of a year was that my flexibility was severely curbed. Even observing garden animals was difficult, and I knew that I was missing a lot happening away from my window and the front porch. I got proof of that today when I spotted a Rufous sipping from a miniature fuchsia--I thought they had left at the end of June, and I was wrong. The proof's in the photos I took this afternoon.
