I spotted only one Monarch nectaring on the pink clover that grows in my "lawn". I'm so happy I chose not to mow every inch of it, otherwise the clover wouldn't have been there. I have large stands of milkweed too in the larger meadow which is comprised of native grasses. I bush hog 1x/yr. in early spring, so that there's food and habitat available for wildlife the rest of the time. Up until 2 years ago there were many monarchs that visited my meadow but now I'm fortunate if I see just one.
