For the first time in 2 years I see a male monarch enjoying my butterfly bush. Shortly after he is joined by a second one. They remained together for a few minutes. Not sure if they were fighting or mating. Later that afternoon there is another monarch resting (or hopefully laying an egg) on my milkweed. Made for a great day. Will look for holes in the milkweed. Goes to show the need for nectar plants and milkweed......maybe planted along our highways.
