A small monarch larva was seen by a horticulture volunteer earlier today on a common milkweed growing in a pot next to the one of the greenhouses at the Virginia Living Museum [AKA Monarch Waystation #299]. When reported to me by horticulture staff about 2:15 pm, I went with them to look at it. It's now resting under the lip of the pot, a young 4th instar. It looks very new, bright colors, about 15 mm long.
