Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/20/2015

Number: 3

I saw a monarch out in the garden nectaring. It stayed on the flower even when I got close. I stuck out hand and scared it but it went right back to the flower. This is what I would describe as intense nectaring! I also saw another flying low but in a southerly direction. I think the migration is starting earlier this year. We have many caterpillars and chrysalides inside that I will tag when they hatch.
