Over the last two months I have only seen one or occasionally two monarchs in my gardens. However, I have collected close to 200 eggs. At this time I have 61 chrysalises, about 70 just hatched, maybe 10 eggs, and at least 30 caterpillars of various sizes in between. I predict that I will tag and release between 150-180 butterflies before the season is over. I haven't seen any females laying eggs since last Saturday so don't know if that season is done or not. Will keep checking. I did see one monarch feeding on zinnia blossoms today.
