Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 08/20/2015

Number: 20

natural nectar getting more scarce by end of August, the hummers feeding on Rose of Sharon bushes and sugar water now. Did the same the past year.
Beginning of June they were almost gone for approx. 7 weeks, only showed up again end of July. We have many different plants in our garden, though one early evening (6.30 pm) a hummer made a sampler around the garden. Flew in a circle and tested 8 different flower blossoms, like mombretias, butter fly bushes, gladiolas, rose of Sharon, Phlox, Lavender tower, etc. They all had different colors, from bright orange, to dark blue, pink, purple & light purple and white.
Have NEVER seen something like that before. It made me really happy that they enjoy our diversified plants.
