Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/17/2015

Number: 8

Between 8/17 to 8/20 I have found 8 larvae in 2nd or 3rd instar on A.syrica. The plants are infested with aphids and mold and there are many flies around. The flies look like large house flies with a metallic gold back. I collect every monarch cat or egg I find to be reared indoors on washed leaves and individual isolation. Big thunderstorm on night of 8/20 knocked down about half of my milkweed patch but did not break the stems.
