Today a bird, not a hummer, maybe some type of sparrow or immature woodpecker, was feeding at my Hummingbird feeder. Along came a hummer, swerved away when she saw him and went to my flowers, Beebalm and Cape Fuchia, and fed from them. Then she flew back to the feeder and saw him still there and flew away. Later there were three hummers circling the feeder and then flew away. Normally I only see one female. The increased activity makes me wonder if perhaps they are getting ready to migrate. Only saw a male one this summer.
