Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/22/2015

Number: 3

Pretty sure that two females (rubythroat) have been here all summer - I can tell by there fighting habits. I haven't had any flowering plants for a couple of months, so they're using the feeder. Today I saw a small green little dude/dudette, probably one of the female's baby. It was on a vine by the feeder and sat there for quite awhile surveying the yard and taking a drink from the feeder, which is a very different pattern from the females that buzz in and buzz out to feed, but don't sit around. He looks exactly like a little green leaf - almost invisible!
