Traveled east of Toronto today to re-stock my supply of milkweed. In three hours, I found about 8 large caterpillars, 49 small ones, 33 eggs. Very few adults. Spotted a couple of egg laying females, but last night was cool, and in Toronto tonight temperature drops to 12 C or about 53.6 F. That should send any migrants fleeing the cold front. Hopefully a one night event, at least for a while.
Tomorrow, Tommy Thompson Park Butterfly Festival in Toronto.
