Sheila and I have been in Parry Sound for almost a week and we have done our annual search of local milkweed and nectar sources. We have seen 7 adults on Joe Pye Weed and collected three 1st instars, 4 second instars, 2 fourth instars, and 5 fifth instars. No eggs were recovered. We have tagged and released 2 reared adults. Local people have commented on how seldom they are observing Monarchs on the wing compared to ‘the way it used to be’.
